NEW DELHI: Defending the use of force on protesting farmers during the tractor rally that descended into violence on January 26, the Centre told Parliament on Tuesday that the Delhi Police was left with no option but to use tear gas, water cannons, and mild force to control the crowd. Union minister G Kishan Reddy said in the Lok Sabha that the farmers “aggressively resorted to rioting”.
