Women inducted in COBRA unit
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Saturday inducted 34 women commandoes in its elite Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA) unit, which was raised in 2009 and is mainly deployed in states affected by left-wing extremism. The women personnel were inducted during the 35th Raising Day of the force’s 88th Mahila Battalion, the CRPF said in a release. These women personnel will undergo a strenuous COBRA pre-induction training for three months, the force said.
