A boost for Delhi sub-cities

DDA officials said that of the three sub-cities, special focus will be on Narela, where a majority of its new flats are located

LUCKNOW: With the aim of helping government primary school students catch up on loss in learning outcome because of closure of schools for nearly a year due to the pandemic, state basic education department will roll out a programme Prerna Gyanotsav by running remedial and accelerated learning exercise, an official said.

With the reopening of primary school from March 1, the programme will run for 100 consecutive days and after that the examination will be conducted to assess the learning outcome, says an order issued by Renuka Kumar, additional chief secretary, basic education department.

“The schools will continue to run online classes via Whatsapp group alongside offline physical classes from March 1. The class-wise content will be sent to teachers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the Whatsapp group,” adds the government order issued by Kumar.

“Teachers will share the content with students. Parents will also be motivated to watch the programme running on Doordarshan. After the schools reopen, handbook- based remedial classes will be conducted. Language books have also been developed for classes two and three. These too will reach the districts soon,” she said.
