BJP EX-MLA, 23 others booked for rioting on V-day

BHOPAL: The MP police booked a former MLA of the BJP, along with 23 others, for rioting after they allegedly vandalised two hookah lounges on Valentine’s Day, said an official. The booked include 15 from the BJP members and seven from Shiv Sena, the police said. Police have arrested BJP’S EX-MLA Surendra Nath Singh and seven others under IPC’S sections 294 (obscene comments), 427 (mischief causing damage), 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapon) and 506 (criminal intimidation). Before the arrest, Singh said, “We can’t allow anyone to spoil our generation. The Valentine’s day is not a part of the culture and it promotes obscenity.”
