Mars, in high definition
US space agency Nasa on Wednesday released highdefinition images of the surface of planet Mars taken by the Perseverance Mars rover. A section of the panoramic image shows the Jezero crater, where the rover touched down on February 18. Nasa scientists said the rover’s cameras will help scientists assess the geologic history and atmospheric conditions of the crater and identify rocks and sediment worthy of a closer examination and collection for eventual return to Earth.
The agency has previously released video of the landing of the rover, which is on a mission to search for signs of past life on the Red Planet.
