MP HC grants bail to two co-accused

- HTC

The Madhya Pradesh high court on Friday granted interim bail to two co-accused who were arrested along with comedian Munawar Faruqui on January 1 and 2 for allegedly hurting religious sentiments and violating Covid-19 protocol, according to a government advocate. Stand-up comedian Nalin Yadav from Pithampur, Dhar district, and the organiser of show from which Faruqui was arrested, Mumbai-based engineer Sadaqat Khan, will be released from jail after 56 days, advocate Amit Sisodiya said. Yadav was arrested -- on a complaint from the Hindu Rakshak Sangathan group -- on January 1 along with Faruqui, MBA students Prakhar Vyas and Edwin Anthony, and a minor, during the event. Khan was arrested on January 2. The other four accused were released on bail this month.
