Man booked for sexual assault of two minor daughters in U’khand
RUDRAPUR: A man has been booked for allegedly sexually assaulting his two minor daughters in Uttarakhand’s Almora district, officials said on Tuesday.
On Monday, the man’s wife approached the Lingurata revenue outpost with her daughters, aged 14 and 16 years, and filed a complaint against her husband, revenue sub-inspector Kuber Singh Mehra said.
“She alleged that her husband has doing this for a long time,” Mehra said.
An FIR has been filed against the accused, Mehra said. “We lodged an FIR against the accused under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.”
A medical examination of the minors has been conducted and they will soon be produced in court to record their statements, the official said. A similar case was filed in Nainital on February 19, when a 20-year-old woman accused her father of assaulting her and four of her sisters.
