Active cases tally nears 8K in Noida, 20 deaths in Gzb

On Saturday, Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 1,470 new Covid-19 cases and 13 deaths. Active cases now stand at 7,991 in the district.

The total number of cases recorded so far in the district is 36,240, while total fatalities are 225 and.

Ghaziabad on the other hand saw 1,204 fresh cases, and 20 deaths, as per the state health bulletin.

Covid-positive Ghaziabad DM admitted to hospital

Meanwhile, Ajay Shankar Pandey, district magistrate of , Ghaziabad,who had tested positive for Covid-19 last week, was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in

Kaushambi on Friday night.

Pandey and his wife had tested positive for the virus on April 25 and were in home isolation. Pandey was being treated at home but on Friday night, according to officials, his condition deteriorated, and he was immediately admitted to the hospital. Officials said that “the

DM is doing better now”.

App to help patients in home isolation

A mobile application is being developed to help Covid-19 patients who are in home isolation with medical advice, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh said Saturday. “GIMS and a private firm will develop the app. It will be ready in 4-5 days. It will be named Medical College Noida Home Isolation App,” Singh said.

GIMS director Brig (Retd) Rakesh Gupta said: “Students and doctors can guide the treatment,” he said.the app will be developed at ₹2.6 lakh, from the MLA’S Vidhayak Nidhi funds.
