Central Reserve Police Force establishes FOB at Halmad

Adding another milestone in the mission to strike at the core of Maoist influence areas by creating bases in the remotest regions of Left Wing Extremism affected regions, the troops of 112 Bn CRPF established a Forward operating Base (FOB) at Halmad, PS Tebo West Singhbhum, Jharkhand recently. Forward Operating Base will serve as a base for the security Forces to launch their coordinated operations in the surrounding areas and will also help in cutting off the Maoist supply lines.

NHRC sends notice to the Chief Secretary, DGP, Government of TN

The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, India has taken suo moto cognisance of media reports that three workers were asphyxiated to death while cleaning a septic tank at an under-construction house in Gandhi Nagar area in Karur district of Tamil Nadu on November 15. The Commission has issued notices to the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu and the Municipal Commissioner, Karur, calling for reports in the matter. The Chief Secretary has to submit an action taken report.
