IED recovered from minibus

JAMMU: An improvised explosive device (IED) weighing 1kg was recovered from a minibus at Nashri check post on the Jammu-srinagar national highway in Ramban district on Friday, police said, adding that the driver and conductor were picked up for questioning.

“We recovered the timer-fitted IED at around 12.30pm,” Ramban SSP Mohita Sharma, said. “It was hidden in a box and destroyed in a controlled explosion,” she added. It was for the third time in the past 12 days that an IED was recovered in Jammu region.
