Injured Neymar to miss game versus Switzerland
Neymar will not play Brazil’s next match against Switzerland on Monday but will remain with the squad to undergo treatment for his ankle injury, team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said on Friday.
Lasmar said that tests conbrazilian ducted on the forward’s right ankle showed a ligament injury.
Neymar suffered the injury on Thursday after a tackle by Serbia defender Nikola Milenkovic. When asked for an update after the game, Lasmar said there was a “direct trauma” leading to a sprain. It was one of the nine fouls on the Brazil star. There were four free-kicks that Neymar won leading him being the most fouled player in this edition even though he has played only 79 minutes in the competition. Neymar, said head coach Tite, played for 11 minutes with the injury “to help the team”, an effort he termed was “remarkable.”
