Two CAPF jawans on Guj poll duty die in clash

Two jawans of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF ) were killed and two others were injured after their colleague opened fire following an altercatio­n in a village near Porbandar in Gujarat on Saturday, officials said.

Voting in Porbandar district will be held on December 1 in the first phase of polling.

The jawans were staying inside a cyclone centre in Tukda Gosa village, about 25 km from

Porbandar. Officials said rifleman Inaucha Singh opened fire from his service weapon after an argument with his colleagues. “There was some heated argument after which one of them started firing with an AK-47, killing one person on the spot. Another person died at the hospital. Two more are seriously injured and being treated at a hospital in Jamnagar,” AM Sharma, district collector and district election officer for Porbandar, said. The deceased were identified as Thoiba Singh and Jiten Singh of the 3rd Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB)
