The Noida authority will discuss the draft master plan 2041 for New Noida soon and will make some changes in the blueprint prepared by School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi.

The authority in June 2021, roped in the SPA for preparing the blueprint for the draft master plan. The SPA has already submitted the draft of the master plan 2041, defining land uses for the expansion of Noida towards Bulandshahr.

“We have discussed the master plan 2041 of New Noida with the SPA after it was submitted and also discussed it at a board meeting last month. We also met industry leaders in Delhi, and discussed the New Noida expansion plan. Subsequently, we have decided to make the master plan as per the needs of the market. Once the master plan 2041 is finalised, we will take it to the board and also get necessary approval from the Uttar Pradesh government for further action,” said Ritu Maheshwari, chief executive officer, Noida authority.

The authority has asked SPA to discuss the master plan on December 2 before it can be finalised. The UP government on January 3, 2021, added 84 villages to Noida, with an aim to ready more industrial land, create space for manufacturing units, financial institutions and provide job opportunities in the region. The move was necessitated because there is no land available for allotment.

As per the draft of the New Noida master plan, the city will be developed into a hub of manufacturing and financial institutions. Also, since it will be developed on the Gurugram model, farmers will have a share in the commercial, industrial and other projects that will come up in the new city, sources said.

We have decided to make the master plan in accordance with market needs. RITU MAHESHWARI,

CEO, Noida authority
