Roys quit as directors of NDTV’S promoter entity
New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) on Tuesday said founders Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy have stepped down from its promoter entity, RRPR Holdings Ltd, as directors. The company now has as directors Adani Group executives Sudipta Bhattacharya, Sanjay Pugalia, and Senthil Chengalvarayan.
Adani Group is acquiring NDTV.
The company, which runs news channels NDTV 24x7 and NDTV India, among other media brands, said in a stock market filing on Monday that an entity backed by the Roys had issued shares to a unit of Adani Group, all but confirming the takeover.
The transfer of shares, it said, would give Adani control over a 29.18% stake in the news group.
