HC SUSPENDS STAFF FOR USING PAYTM QR CODE FOR TIPS
The Allahabad high court has suspended a bundle lifter for using Paytm QR code on court premises to receive tips from lawyers, an official familiar with the matter said on Thursday. The action was taken after Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal received a letter from Justice Ajit Kumar.
A photograph of Rajendra Kumar carrying the QR code has been widely circulated on various Whatsapp groups of lawyers.
The suspension order, however, ordered subsistence allowance to Kumar if he submits a certificate to prove he is not engaged in any other employment.
