CBI SUMMONS TELANGANA CM’S DAUGHTER KAVITHA
HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday told Telangana Rashtra Samithi lawmaker and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha, to appear before the investigating officer on December 6 in connection with its probe into the alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy.
HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday told Telangana Rashtra Samithi lawmaker and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha to appear before the investigating officer on December 6 in connection with its probe into the alleged irregularities in the nowscrapped Delhi liquor policy.
A notice issued by CBI deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Alok Kumar gave the TRS leader the option to appear before the investigating officer in Delhi or Hyderabad. HT has reviewed a copy of the notice.
It said she was being summoned as a witness under Section 160 of the CRPC regarding allegations pertaining to the excise policy of Delhi government. “During the course of investigation of the subject cited case, certain facts have emerged with which you may be acquainted with hence your examination on such facts is
required in the interest of investigation,” the notice said. The officer asked Kavitha to share her residential address (Hyderabad or preferably Delhi) as per her convenience for examination at 11am on December 6 regarding the case.kavitha said she had received the CBI notice and responded to it. “I have informed the authorities that I can meet them at my residence in Hyderabad on December 6 as per their request,” she said.
The CBI notice comes two days after the ED named Kavitha in the remand report submitted to a Delhi court following the arrest of Amit Arora, one of the accused in the liquor scam.
