GOLDY BRAR WILL SOON BE BROUGHT BACK: PB MINISTER

Punjab tourism minister Anmol Gagan Maan on Saturday said that Canadabase­d gangster Goldy Brar will soon be brought back to India.

“Brar will be brought back to India soon,” she said at an event in Chandigarh, where she also called for workshops to motivate youth into joining the armed forces.

Brar, who is believed to be the mastermind in the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala, was reportedly detained in California after he illegally entered the US from Canada.

“Brar will be brought back to India soon,” she said at an event in Chandigarh.

Satinderje­et Singh alias Goldy Brar, who is from Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab, travelled to Canada on a student visa in 2017. He is said to be an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A red corner notice, which allows the arrest and detention of a fugitive abroad, has been issued against Brar.

According to news agency ANI, Brar is currently under round-the-clock monitoring of the US’S Federal Bureau of Investigat­ion. He was tracked by the FBI after he illegally entered the US from Canada.

“The California police have detained him. They have contacted the Indian government and the Punjab Police and informed them about his detention. They have asked whether he needs to be deported,” Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann told reporters on Friday.

Court extends NIA custody of Bishnoi

A Delhi court on Saturday extended by four days the NIA custody of alleged gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, accused in Sidhu Moosewala murder case, in a matter related to conspiracy hatched by terror groups.

Special judge Shailendra Malik extended the custodial

interrogat­ion of Bishnoi after he was produced before the court through video conference on expiry of his 10-day NIA custody granted earlier.
