Police on alert, 50,000 staff to ensure free, fair, safe polling

NEW DELHI: About 50,000 police personnel, along with companies of central forces and home guards have deployed for free, fair and peaceful polling in the MCD elections on Sunday, Delhi Police said.

Police (Law and Order) Dependra Pathak said, “Multi-layer arrangements have been made for the three phases , that is, pre-poll, during poll and post-poll to ensure free and fair elections in Delhi”.

Besides polling stations, special safety steps have been taken at interstate borders, he added.
