Marching on the path of Inclusive Development
Taking inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Gram Swarajya, Chhattisgarh has adopted a new model for inclusive development. Under this model a number of public welfare schemes have been launched such as Suraji Gaon Yojana, Narva Garwa Ghurwa-bari Program, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Rural Landless Agricultural Labourer Nyay Yojana, establishment of Rural Industrial Parks, collection of minor forest produce for the economic empowerment of villages.
Schemes such as value addition, entrepreneurship development are also being implemented. With these schemes being run by the state government, new employment opportunities are being created in the rural areas. These schemes are helping accelerate the development of the state, due to which the unemployment rate is sharply decreasing in the state.
Dr Khoobchand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme
The Government of Chhattisgarh is committed to provide health benefits to all the citizens of the state. Under the Dr Khubchand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme, people of the state are being given health insurance coverage.
The objective of the scheme is to provide quality health services to the citizens of Chhattisgarh, which are easily accessible to the needy families. No poor family of the state is now deprived of health facilities.
Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana
‘Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana’ was started in Chhattisgarh with the objective of saving farmers from debt, strengthening their economic condition and making farming a profitable business. Under the scheme, input assistance at the rate of
9,000 per acre for paddy crops and 10,000 per acre for horticulture crops is being given by the state government.
This scheme has motivated farmers of Chhattisgarh to pay more attention to the crops and aim for having a better yield. The objective of this scheme is to increase the difference in the support price of paddy, so that farmers do not have to face any economic problem.
The 'Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana' has now entered its third year and an amount of about Rs22,679 crore has been disbursed to the farmers.
