Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store

The Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store Scheme offers residents of the state a discount of more than 50% on the purchase of high-quality generic medicines. This has reduced the cost of treatment. Now a large number of people are able to get treatment.

Under the scheme, medical stores have been opened in all the 169 urban bodies of the state. For this, 194 shops were identified by the urban bodies, out of which 190 shops have been started. Also, 329 types of generic medicines, 28 types of surgical equipment are available at discounted rates at these shops.

It has been made mandatory for government doctors to write generic medicines on prescription. In order to ensure the quality of medicines, a condition has been laid to make available generic medicines of renowned companies of the country in these shops. Medicines for serious disorders, antibiotics, and surgical goods as well as cold and cough, fever, blood pressure, insulin are made available at these stores. In the next phase, home delivery of medicines will also be arranged from these shops.
