Positive thoughts helped him beat Covid-19 in 10 days

-

LUCKNOW : Ranjit Kumar Singh, an environmentalist working for cleaning the Gomti, believes he was able to beat the coronavirus infection in just 10 days because he remained positive , practised meditation, read a lot of positive literature. Besides, he wrote short stories to divert his mind from the illness and remained in contact with his friends.

Singh, a former corporator of Mankameshwar ward in the state capital, was declared Covid-19 positive on April 3, but he was able to beat the disease within 10 days.

“I was able to beat corona only because of my positive thoughts and support of my family. MY CT value was around 20, which was not good. I was having severe body ache and fever. I got myself tested on April 2 and on April 3, my report came, in which I was declared positive.

I got it from my friend who suffered a heart attack, and I pumped his chest, carried him to a hospital where he was kept in a holding area, his Covid test came positive, and I contracted the virus from him.”

Singh also said, “I immediately isolated myself from my family and started motivating myself, reading religious books and doing dhyan (meditation). I knew for quick recovery, I had to take a lot of fluid and protein. So, I started taking liquids at small intervals, besides taking medicine prescribed by doctors. Despite fever and difficulty in breathing, I kept on doing yoga, especially breathing exercises, to boost my lungs.”

He recalled, “I used to clean the Gomti every weekend with my team. I missed that during my illness. But I remained in contact with them through WhatsApp calls. I kept on guiding them about the importance of saving themselves from Covid-19.

I kept on sharing my experiences with them. I also wrote a few short stories to divert my mind from illness during my isolation.”

“I received the support of my family. My wife (who is sitting corporator of Mankameshwar ward) gave me medicines on time. She served me food and water whenever I demanded,” said Singh.
