Complain if housing societies not giving discount in power bills: NPCL

-

LUCKNOW : The Noida Power Company Ltd (NPCL) has urged consumers to write to it if any housing society in Greater Noida is not giving 10% discount in electricity bills to them in violation of the UP Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (UPERC) tariff order.

The (UPERC) vide tariff order on July 20 announced a regulatory discount at the rate of 10% for the consumers of Greater Noida on the retails tariffs approved for the entire state of Uttar Pradesh. “Despite taking all steps by the NPCL on its part in passing on the benefit of a regulatory discount to the consumers of Greater Noida, recently the company received complaints from some societies with single point connections in Greater Noida where builders were not passing on the benefit of this discount to the people living in such societies,” a spokesman for the

NPCL said. “The NPCL immediately issued notices to builders/ RWAs/ facility management companies asking them to implement the regulatory discount with immediate effect and if still they are not doing so, we urge consumers to make a complain to us,” he said.

“Due to the company giving regulator benefits to consumers, tariff in Greater Noida is cheaper by 10% as compared to the rest of the state of Uttar Pradesh and industrial tariff is cheapest amongst all the cities in DelhiNCR region,” the spokesman claimed.
