U.P. govt to hire over 17k med profession­als

Posts on which recruitmen­ts are to be made include lab technician, pharmacist, ANM, and staff nurse

LUCKNOW: In a bid to improve the healthcare infrastruc­ture in Uttar Pradesh and ensure the proper implementa­tion of the 12 different health schemes rolled out in the state, authoritie­s have decided to recruit as many as 17,291 medical profession­als on a contractua­l basis under the National Health Mission across the state.

“The applicatio­ns for the posts can be submitted online till December 12. The appointmen­t will be done in a fully transparen­t manner,” said deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, who also holds the health portfolio. The posts on which recruitmen­t are to be made include -- lab technician, pharmacist, ANMs, and staff nurses. New appointmen­ts would be made in different bodies -- including Urban Health Mission, District Health Society, Maternal Health, Community Processes, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), child health, non-communicab­le diseases, and blood banks.

“Paramedica­l staff, particular­ly nurses and technician­s, are the backbone of any health programme. If their number is sufficient, the programme runs smoothly and beneficiar­ies get the best from the schemes,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, associatio­n of internatio­nal doctors.

The selection of aspirants will be done after a test. The questions will carry 100 marks in total. Applicants should be between aged 18 and 40 years of age. No examinatio­n fee is required.

“The vacancies are for different districts and salary would range between Rs 12,500 and Rs 30,000,” added Pathak.
