U.P. govt to hire over 17k med professionals
Posts on which recruitments are to be made include lab technician, pharmacist, ANM, and staff nurse
LUCKNOW: In a bid to improve the healthcare infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh and ensure the proper implementation of the 12 different health schemes rolled out in the state, authorities have decided to recruit as many as 17,291 medical professionals on a contractual basis under the National Health Mission across the state.
“The applications for the posts can be submitted online till December 12. The appointment will be done in a fully transparent manner,” said deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, who also holds the health portfolio. The posts on which recruitment are to be made include -- lab technician, pharmacist, ANMs, and staff nurses. New appointments would be made in different bodies -- including Urban Health Mission, District Health Society, Maternal Health, Community Processes, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), child health, non-communicable diseases, and blood banks.
“Paramedical staff, particularly nurses and technicians, are the backbone of any health programme. If their number is sufficient, the programme runs smoothly and beneficiaries get the best from the schemes,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, association of international doctors.
The selection of aspirants will be done after a test. The questions will carry 100 marks in total. Applicants should be between aged 18 and 40 years of age. No examination fee is required.
“The vacancies are for different districts and salary would range between Rs 12,500 and Rs 30,000,” added Pathak.
