BE TRANSPARENT IN FILING RETURNS: I-T OFFICIAL
AGRA: : One should be be transparent in filing income tax return as the department had several means of artificial intelligence to cross check data which can lead to action in case of concealment, said director, Income Tax (Intelligence and Criminal investigation) for West Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Shumona Sen. She was addressing a seminar on “E verification scheme-2021” here which was attended by lawyers from Taxation Bar Association and Chartered Accountants from Agra Branch and those from National Chamber for Commerce and Industries.
“In this age of information technology, Income Tax Department has sufficient details of financial transactions made regarding banking, property, sale purchase of luxury carsand interest receipts,” she said.
“We can to analyse each return filed and in case of discrepancy, notices are served which is the last opportunity for income tax assessee to file updated return, ” said Sen.
