2 killed in Firozabad road mishap

AGRA: The executive officer of Makhanpur Nagar Panchayat in Firozabad, along with a 15-year-old teenager died in an accident on National Highway 19 on Saturday. The teenager, identified as Ankit Rathore, died on the spot, while the executive officer, Amar Bahadur, succumbed to injuries during treatment at the Trauma Centre in Firozabad.

Police sources in Firozabad informed that the accident occurred on national highway 19 near Shiv Ganga Dhaba in Firozabad on Saturday. Amar Bahadur was driving towards the district headquarte­rs to attend a meeting when Ankit Rathore, riding a bicycle, suddenly came in front of his car. In an attempt to save the teenager, Bahadur lost control of the vehicle, which then hit a pole on the roadside after striking the boy on the cycle.

“Ankit died on the spot, while Amar Bahadur was rushed to the Trauma Centre in Firozabad but died during treatment,” stated police sources in Firozabad.

Amar Bahadur (45) was a native of Peelapur village within the limits of Jai Singhpur in the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. He had assumed his role in July 2022 at Firozabad. Ankit was a student in the 11th standard.
