The move outraged the makers, as the film had been re-edited with 59 additional cuts and had obtained a U/A certificate for its TV release. The problem was that the film had an adult theme and the ministry didn’t want it to be aired during the day. The decision resulted in a huge loss for the channel, as they had reportedly bought the rights for R8 crore. It later aired at 12 pm and 8.30 pm. Following this, four major broadcasters decided never to purchase an ‘A’ rated film, which has to be aired after 11 pm.
