ANOTHER PORN STAR IN BOLLYWOOD
After Sunny Leone, Shanti Dynamite will soon be seen making her debut in a ‘gangster-erotica-horror’ film
Back in 2012, Sunny Leone made her Bollywood debut with Jism 2. Now, another porn star, Shanti Dynamite, who is often compared to Sunny, is set to enter the Hindi film industry with producer Rupesh Paul’s next. It is being described as a “gangster-erotica-horror” film.
“We were auditioning a number of girls for three nonIndian characters. And then, co-incidentally, I bumped into Shanti. I had read (in an interview) about her wanting to work with producer Ekta Kapoor, so I kind of knew about her,” says Paul, adding that the film, which he is co-producing, will feature three leading ladies in major roles. Ask Paul if he was aware of Shanti's background and whether that was one of the reasons he cast her, and he says, “I got to know about her background later on. However, that didn’t matter to me. I don’t look at it as a bad thing.”
To be assured of their choice, the makers put her through a rigorous audition. “Since we weren’t sure about her acting skills, Shanti was put through a proper process. There were photo shoots organised with her for two days and then, performance auditions. Finally, the team was happy with her. And since she is half-Indian, halfUgandan, Shanti fits the part perfectly,” adds Paul.
Apparently, Shanti has “put in a lot of hard work” for the role. “She learnt Hindi within a month with the help of a tutor and can speak fluently now. We have already shot one schedule for the promo and it was shown at the Cannes Film Festival this year,” he says.
