KJo makes his digital debut

Karan Johar is a man who wears many hats. The renowned filmmaker has been a judge on TV shows, and will soon be seen doing a fullfledge­d role in a film. Now, he is set for something new — a digital debut. Karan is preparing to host, judge and mentor participan­ts on a digital show titled ‘#fame School of Style’, which claims to be India’s first online hunt for top stylists.

Talking about this associatio­n, Karan says, “I’m truly excited about the power of the digital world, and the new wave of promising, youngng talent that’s coming to the fore through it. #fame School of Style is the perfect opportunit­y to experience this phenom-enon. I firmly believe that content built using emerging talent connects strongly with young audiences, and thehe Internet is the ideal plat-form to engage with them.”

Saket Saurabh, CEO, #fame, says, “The show is part of digital network #fame’s strategic plan too emerge as Asia’s premier talent-led digital entertainm­ent network. Catering to the young gen-eneration through a talent-first strategy, #fame’s net-etwork aims to have over 5,000 channels, and workk with 50,000 content cre- ators across six countries over the next three years.”

The network focuses on emerging and establishi­ng talent to promote them, and build digital communitie­s around them. Saurabh adds, “As part of its talent discovery initiative­s, #fame also announced a slew of marquee digital properties aimed at identifyin­g emerging talent in the fashion, music, comedy and food spaces. This includes ‘Websinger’, a platform for promising, young singing talent, ‘Gang No.1’, a search for top comedy collective­s, and the second season of ‘Webchef ’, an online hunt for amateur chefs.”

announced its upcoming digital shows and channels with emerging talent as well as celebritie­s. Those who have signed up with #fame include TV star Maria Goretti, child comic star Saloni, actor and fashionist­a Anusha Dandekar, celebrity chef Ajay Chopra, popular singer Shibani Kashyap, and style guru VJ Andy. The channel, withw fitness icon and model Milind Soman, and renowned sports commentato­r Harsha Bhogle are already up and running.
