Be it composing soulful music, singing versatile numbers or writing songs, Amit Trivedi dons many hats. He has earned the reputation of being a cutting-edge and innovative music maker in his half-decade-odd career in Bollywood. Some of his most popular works in recent times include the soundtracks of films like Lootera (2013), Kai Po Che (2013) and Queen. Apart from this, he has also just released a single, titled ‘Bas bajna chaiye’.

“The song is about celebration and it focuses on how music is important in every aspect of our lives. It’s an energetic number, sung by Benny Dayal and Anusha Mani,” says Amit.

When asked how he manages to compose, sing and write songs at the same time, Amit says multitasking comes naturally to him. “The secret behind this is that I love music. I am very passionate about my work, and that is how I manage to pull off everything,” he says.

Despite being one of the most sought-after names in the music industry, Amit still prefers to stay away from the spotlight. He rarely makes public appearances or interacts with the media. Ask him why he prefers keeping such a low profile and he admits, “I am an introvert and I like to be in my work shell. I only enjoy the company of my music.”

While today’s Bollywood music depends a lot on processing, Amit’s songs are believed to have a distinct sound. “I don’t think I do anything different,” he says, adding, “Today you can’t function without digitisation, but my way of making music is different.”
