Fiction and reality

HT Cafe - - My City - Aditya Dogra

work of fiction, 31 miles, by author Vinita Bakshi, tells the story of Mansa, a middle-aged woman who was convinced into an arranged marriage by her orthodox family. Happy with the life of a homemaker, she lives with her husband and two daughters. She continues to do so until she befriends Rajan Chopra on a social networking website. Mansa’s complicated and lovely bond with Rajan is described well and is convincing. There are phases when one may deviate, but for a debut novel, Vinita does a great job. It is a story that most women will relate to. A one-time read, the easy language makes the book a perfect pick for first-timers. 31 Miles Vinita Bakshi
