‘Summing up 2016 with a crescendo feels great’

- Pooja Sharma

Sushant Singh Rajput has had an eventful year. To begin with, he delivered MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, which became one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of the year. The Neeraj Pandey directorial even made it to the list of feature films that are eligible for the Oscars, and Sushant’s performance also received many accolades. The Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) actor topped Google’s most trending Bollywood actors’ list as well.

However, a handwritten note and flowers sent by Amitabh Bachchan acknowledging his work in MS Dhoni counts among his most special memories of this year. Sushant also shared a photo and thanked Big B for his encouraging words.

Speaking about the senior actor, Sushant says, “This gesture is very special for me. Mr Bachchan and I met recently, and he told me that he would watch MS Dhoni soon. I was curious to know what he thought about it. But he liked my performance a lot. I’m glad about that. The flowers and letter instantly brought a big smile to my face,” says the actor.

With a hit film followed by a lot of appreciation, is 2016 ending on a great note for Sushant? “Yes, absolutely. I think summing up the entire year with a crescendo always feels great. The teams of MS Dhoni and Sarbjit (which also made it to the Oscars list) should be proud. I can boast to my friends that I’ve got an admiration letter from Mr Bachchan. It feels good to find out that there are other people besides you who are looking up your name on Google,” he says, laughing.
