Karan Mehra (below right) is a bit irked, owing to frequent reports about his wife Nisha Rawal’s pregnancy. “When there is something to announce, we will,” says Karan, who has been taking it easy after his exit from an ongoing reality TV show last month.

The actor says he is glad he managed to keep his “image clean on the show”. He says, “I am happy that people saw the real me and appreciated that. I didn’t want to be someone fake, and I stuck to that. I was the peacemaker in the house.”

Karan was part of a hit TV show for eight years before he quit few months ago. However, he says he doesn’t “miss” working in the show. He says, “It’s easy for me to switch on and switch off from work. I have learnt that over the years. Since I left, I have looked forward in life. The show was in my past, and, yes, I do cherish it, but I don’t hold on to it all the time. Now, the cast has changed and the story track is different from the earlier one. I have heard people say that it is not the same anymore. Of course, I had many good days on the show and I’m currently enjoying life. I’m sure the show will go on for many years.” Ask Karan about his plans for the future, and he says he is looking forward to doing something else. “I am on a break and chilling, as I was on the show for eight years. Doing a daily for that long isn’t easy. I am in talks for a couple of projects, but I’m not in a hurry. I am game for something interesting on TV, but nothing is working out. I want to move on to the next step and try for movies. If that happens, I will shift my base. Every actor wants to get into movies, eventually, and so do I,” says the actor.
