Arshad and Naseer back again on the silver screen
Naseeruddin Shah (far right) and Arshad Warsi (right) have acted together in two films so far, and the two are all set to share the screen once again. The actors will star in Aparnaa Singh’s debut directorial venture, Irada — a thriller that has an environment-focused theme.
Speaking about his relationship with Shah, Arshad says, “Naseer saab and I have one thing in common. We don’t like giving retakes, because then the natural essence of the scene gets messed up. He has such a wicked sense of humour. Whoever understands it will understand how awesome he is.”
Actor Divya Dutta, who also features in the film, says she always wanted to work with Arshad and Shah. “I’ve met Naseerji so many times off-screen, and I just love the way his eyes speak volumes. He is a pleasure to work with. And Arshad is the fun person on set. Even draining, serious scenes becomeecome fun when Arshad is aroundaround. It was an amazing experience,” she says.
For Aparnaa, it has been a dream project. “All the actors I’ve worked with, I’m going to go to them with my other film scripts too, because of my experience working in this film,” she says. The film’s trailer is also receiving tremendous appreciation from the audience, according to the film’s makers.
An Irada Entertainment LLP production, produced by Falguni Patel and Prince Soni, and directed by Aparnaa Singh, Irada stars Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi, Sagarika Ghatge, Divya Dutta and Sharad Kelkar. The movie releases on February 17.
