On friendly terms

- Prashant Singh

When this Delhi girl married Shahid Kapoor in 2015, not only did she move to Mumbai, she also became a part of the film industry, albeit in an indirect manner. It’s been two years since then, and Mira Rajput Kapoor now admits that she “knows a few people” in the film industry. So does she have friends in the industry now? Mira says, “I think friendship evolves over some time, and I have been here for a little less than two years. So I can say that, right now, my closest friend is Shahid. I am very proud to say that, because that’s why our relationship has such depth.” Mira admits that she has friends, but they aren’t from the film industry. “That doesn’t mean that people in the industry are not friendly. They are extremely warm and welcoming. I have never got cold vibes from whoever I have met till now,” she says. Mira is “very happy” with the friends that she has, as they made her feel that “Mumbai is home”, but she says she is looking forward to making friends in the industry. “I think, in due course, it will happen,” she says.

Over the past few months, there have been multiple rumours about Mira’s acting debut, but she is surprised that people are “making a big deal about the acting world”. She says, “They turn it into how it’s a ‘very bad’ or a ‘very good’ profession. Right now, I see it as a time-consuming job that comes with a lot of pressure and I don’t want to deal with those pressures. If [an opportunity] comes when I am ready for it, I will take a call then. But right now, no.”

MIRA IS “VERY HAPPY” WITH THE FRIENDS THAT SHE HAS, AS THEY MADE HER FEEL THAT “MUMBAI IS HOME”, BUT SHE SAYS SHE IS LOOKING FORWARD TO MAKING FRIENDS IN THE INDUSTRY.
