The story of a unique marriage
Majestic palaces, vintage cars, traditional royal ensembles and a heritage setting makes this unique tale one of the most opulent stories of today’s time. Shot in scenic locations in Rajasthan, Pehredaar Piya Ki narrates the story of an 18-year-old girl, Diya (played by Tejasswi Prakash) who, owing to extraordinary circumstances, takes the bold step of getting married to shoulder the vital responsibility of being the silent protector of her nineyear-old husband, Ratan (played by Affan Khan).
While Diya takes up her duty of a wife and willingly commits to the relationship, Ratan is enamoured of her and considers her to be a pari from the fairytales he has heard from his Kaki Maasa or aunt (played by Aditi Deshpandey). Though a mismatched couple, the two create a comfortable world for themselves. While the husband tries to cheer up his wife with his cute gestures, Diya keeps the promise to protect him and to nurture their relationship.
Premiering tonight on Sony Entertainment Television, the show will give viewers a glimpse of the colours and culture of Rajasthan.
Tejasswi Prakash, who essays the role of the wife, or the Pehredaar, says, “Diya is a perfect blend of beauty, strength, courage and an adorable companion. It’s the first time that such a unique concept is being presented on television and I am really excited to be associated with this show.”
