On Saturday evening, celebrated designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra showcased their new haute couture autumn/winter 2017 collection titled, The Regiment at The Imperial in the Capital. The venue provided an idyllic backdrop for the couturiers to evoke a compelling narrative, which they tried to bring forth through their creations. It derived inspiration from the Indian armed forces, and their vigour and courage.
The impeccable sharp cuts and silhouettes made every single outfit stand out as male and female models marched the runway. Epaulets, medallions and bejewelled brooches looked visually appealing. Structured trenchcoat-inspired bandhgalas and long sherwanis teamed with drapes were seen on both men and women. The collection was a visual treat and got a standing ovation from the guests. The Regiment A/W’17 collection is now available across S&N flagship stores in Bandra and Kala Ghoda, Mumbai.
The design fraternity came out in numbers to support the designer duo. Those present at the show included designers Varun Bahl, Rina Dhaka, Ashish N Soni, Rahul Mishra, restaurateur AD Singh, politician Anurag Thakur and former cricketer Murali Kartik.
