Anushka saves a seagull in Lisbon
While shooting for Jab Harry Met Sejal with Shah Rukh Khan in Europe, on one of the days Anushka decided to go for a walk to the seaside. During her stroll, she spotted and saved a seagull that seemed to be in distress and injured. “Always one to take initiative when it comes to caring for animals, Anushka found a local person to figure out what’s wrong with the bird. When he told her that the seagull was injured and one of its wings was hurt, Anushka made it a point to bring the bird to her hotel room and find it shelter. Since it was late evening most of the shelters were shut. So, Anushka decided to take the seagull to the hotel after visiting the veterinarian,” says a source close to the actor.
“Carrying a seagull into a hotel suite is obviously not ideal. She somehow managed and took care of the bird for a whole night. She made sure the bird got the necessary medication that was prescribed. Additionally, Anushka insisted that the team there finds a proper medical care and recovery for the bird. So we drove around, found a care home, and ensured the bird gets proper care. To manage all this amidst a film shoot was not easy. But Anushka won’t ever let anything come in the way of her care for animals,” adds the source. Anushka has also created significant awareness against crackers with the Pawsitive campaign.
