It’s a low-key birthday for Huma

Huma Qureshi isn’t planning a big celebration for her birthday today. The actor, who has been busy promoting her first international film and shooting for Rajinikanthstarrer Kaala Karikaalan, plans to spend the day with her family and friends. A source says, “Huma has a taken a day off, and her family has come down to Mumbai from Delhi to spend some time with her. She will be leaving the next day to promote her film.”

Huma says it’s going to be a low-key affair. “It will be only my parents, Saqib (Salim; brother) and a few cousins and friends. It’s been a hectic year, as I have back-to-back releases. I wasn’t able to spend much time with my family, so I plan to spend a quiet day with them.”

The actor says she usually likes to spend her special day on a vacation with her family or friends, but won’t be able to do so this year. She says, “This time, I only have one day off, so that’s not going to happen. Maybe I will take a big post-birthday holiday after the shoot wraps up.”

Does she have a birthday ritual? “Not particularly. It depends on my schedule. It’s always been something different, the only constant being I’m surrounded by the people I love. I try and return all the lovely messages and calls I get. It’s just a day of receiving good wishes and duas (blessings).”
