>> SOCIAL MEDIA CAN’T GUARANTEE SUCCESS:
Considering that you’ve had five releases this year, how difficult is it for you to say no to offers?
Saying no is always difficult. You often end up turning down a lot of projects. You can’t do every film that comes your way, so I try and be as polite and honest as possible. But if somebody still takes it personally and makes it an ego issue, then that is something I can’t help.
Since you come from a theatre background, would you also be open to working in a play?
Maybe at some point, I would love to do a play, but right now, because my plate is full with films and other commitments, I am sticking to films. But I love watching plays, and if I have a day off, I will most likely be at Prithvi Theatre (Juhu) watching a play.
How important is it to be active on social media today, especially for a celebrity?
It’s not like it’s important. There is no given formula, as there are so many actors who aren’t on it and are perfectly fine with it. I am on Twitter and Instagram, so I try and share stuff, but I am not really a big fan of being on social media 24/7.
You are an FTII alumnus and recently Anupam Kher was chosen as the new chairman of the institution. What is your take on it?
It’s better than the last decision, for sure. Of course, Anupam Kher has a lot of experience and he has been part of some wonderful films. We are very hopeful that things will change for the better.
