TAAPSEE GETS NOSTALGIC

Pannu, who is shooting in Shahbad, a small village in Haryana, says she is enjoying living the simple life

After Judwaa 2 and Naam Shabana, Taapsee Pannu is all set to start 2018 on a high note. Taapsee recently wrapped up the shooting of Mulk with Rishi Kapoor and she’s almost done with Shaad Ali’s Soorma — a film on the life of former hockey skipper Sandeep Singh, alongside actors Diljit Dosanjh and Angad Bedi. Taapsee plays the character of a hockey player and is paired opposite Diljit. The shooting of Soorma is currently in progress in Shahbad, a small village in Haryana and Taapsee is absolutely loving her stay there.

A source close to the actor says, “Taapsee is a Jat Sikhni brought up in Delhi. Even though she lived in Delhi for most of her life, she always remembered her roots from Punjab. While shooting for Soorma, she fulfilled her wish of visiting a Gurudwara, eating food from local dhabas, wearing traditional clothes and visiting wheat and sugarcane farms. She enjoyed every bit of her time in the village.”

Taapsee says, “While growing up, it was a tradition to go back to our ancestral village in Punjab almost every holiday season. But lately, after moving to Mumbai, I didn’t get much time to go there. Visiting Shahbad refreshed all those memories. I’m really enjoying shooting here. I have so many memories attached to Punjab such as playing in the fields and having paranthas from local houses. The air in these areas makes me feel nostalgic.”
