‘Taimur and Laksshya are too young to be friends’
Tusshar Kapoor says close friend Kareena Kapoor Khan’s son Taimur and his son Laksshya have play dates
Tusshar Kapoor’s son Laksshya celebrated his first birthday in June this year and recently, on December 20, his close friend Kareena Kapoor Khan’s son also turned one. Taimur [Ali Khan Pataudi] attended Laksshya’s first birthday bash but Tusshar says that the two kids are too young to be friends. “They’re too young to be friends but they play with each other. There are also other kids of his age and they all just know that there is somebody their age. Obviously, they recognise each other but they don’t talk. They have play dates with each other, but he has that with his other school friends as well from the playgroup that he goes to,” says Tusshar.
While celebrities prefer to keep their kids away from the paparazzi, Tusshar thinks actors or even otherwise, clicking pictures is the norm these days. “I don’t think you have to be shielding your child, but you also don’t have to deliberately be out there. We should just do our thing naturally and if we get clicked, it’s fine. We are human beings and the culture is such that, even if you aren’t a celebrity, people are clicking selfies all the time. There is nothing unusual about our kids and they’ll also have a normal upbringing. I don’t want to be overly protective because what can you do about things that naturally happen? Why crib about that? You just have to be positive. At home, for our own records, we keep taking selfies and pictures with him so Laksshya loves that,” the Golmaal Again actor says.
The actor has also taken him to outdoor schedules where Laksshya was “more than happy to be around people”. He says, “I have taken him to an outdoor schedule and he also came to the studios when we were shooting in Mumbai. He is a happy baby. You have to be really invested and interested in the time you spend with them. It’s more quality over quantity.”
