Sanjay Dutt’s Kyrgyzstan diaries: Action, culture, food, family time
Sanjay Dutt is having a blast exploring the Central Asian nation of Kyrgyzstan. The actor is currently shooting for his upcoming movie, Torbaz, near Bishkek, the capital of the country, and according to a source, he has taken a deep interest in the local culture.
Dutt’s family — wife Maanayata Dutt and six-yearold twins, son Shahraan and daughter Iqra — have also accompanied him to Kyrgyzstan to watch the shoot.
The source says, “The team is shooting at Tokmok, which is 60km from Bishkek — in temperatures between minus 10 and minus 7 degrees Celsius — for some action sequences.”
The source adds that the freezing cold is no deterrent for the children, who “love watching their dad shoot”.
“They stay on the sets until the shooting schedule ends despite the freezing weather,” adds the source. Their boundless enthusiasm is understandable, as “this is the first time that the children have accompanied their dad on an international shoot”.
The actor, who is on a fish diet, “is sampling the local cuisine and exploring the local culture”. According to the source, the team will later shoot in the city of Osh, which has a history going back thousands of years.
The source adds that Dutt also met the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan last week. Apparently, after learning about his visit to the country, Prime Minister Sapar Isakov invited the actor to his residence to welcome him. The source says that the PM organised an elaborate dinner and the two talked about Bollywood films.
Dutt couldn’t be reached for a comment.
