Swara turns designer
Swara Bhasker who is shooting for her next film, Veere Di Wedding, could actually relate to the movie in more ways than one. The actor is looking forward to the wedding of her elder brother Ishan scheduled in March next year, for which she has relaxed her shoot schedule to accommodate preparations for the wedding in Lucknow on March 12.
The actress has turned wedding planner for the ocassion and has shouldered the responsibility of organising every ceremony — right from booking the venue, preparing for the mehendi ceremony and sangeet. With one of their parents belonging to north India and the other to the south, Swara’s is excited about shopping from two different regions.
A source reveals, “Swara is enjoying her role as a wedding planner. She is very close to her brother and is extremely excited about shopping in Chennai and Benaras. She is managing every function very closely. She has been personally involved in purchasing designer clothes for the family and close relatives who are flying in from USA and other countries. Swara has also given her inputs in terms of designing, especially Ishan’s outfits that he will be wearing on different occasions,” the source adds. Swara who is currently vacationing with her family in USA, says,“I am the wedding planner for everything related to my brother’s wedding. My stylist is overlooking the clothes for the family. We’ve spent many happy hours planning the clothes, selecting borders and fabrics. Now, we are doing clothes trials in the USA for like 20 people and then the alterations will happen in India. So it’s a real transatlantic project. But you know it’s my real veerey di wedding. So no holds barred.”
