Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be starring in his first international web series titled McMafia. The actor will be seen sharing the frame with British actor James Nortan, and the series will be directed by James Watkinson. Nawazuddin shot for the series last year in Mumbai as well as in Croatia.
Talking about his experience, director James Watkinson, says, “Nawazzudin was an absolute gentleman to work with. When I came to Mumbai to do ADR [additional dialogue recording] for two nights, he would come to the sound studio after a long day of shooting for another project. And, even after having given everything to the day’s work, he would be 100% committed to exploring his character with me. He is a class actor. I hope I get the opportunity to work with him again. It gives me enormous pleasure to showcase his talents in McMafia and to introduce him to audiences who I know will be mesmerised by his spell.” Watkinson adds that when they shot with Nawazuddin in Mumbai, it was sometimes a “challenge in crowded locations in south Mumbai”. “Huge crowds would gather at the mention of his name. Fortunately, the assistant directors were adept at helping us shoot guerrilla style so we could get our shots,” he says.
