Actors Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz, and Saurabh Shukla star in the new film, Raid, which is set in Uttar Pradesh in the ’80s. The film’s intriguing subject makes it one of the most anticipated releases of 2018.

The film’s trailer, to be released today, will provide a glimpse into the story, which is high on entertainment and strong on content.

Helmed by acclaimed director Raj Kumar Gupta and written by Ritesh Shah, Raid is based on true events — it’s the story of one of the biggest income tax raids in the country. Devgn plays Amay Patnaik, a fearless income tax officer who carries out a raid for a couple of days at the mansion of the most powerful man in Lucknow, a role played by Shukla.

Talking about the film, Gupta says, “It has been an enriching experience working with Ajay and the entire team on this film. We are ready to share with the world, the story that we have put our heart and soul into. As a director, it’s an endeavour to entertain the audience with a highly thought-provoking story.”

Abhishek Pathak, producer and managing director at Panorama Studios, says, “Raid is our seventh film with Ajay sir, and each time, the experience has been memorable. We at Panorama Studios are constantly trying to find inspiring, exciting and powerful stories — be it real or fictional. And with films like Omkara, Special 26, Drishyam, and now Raid, we continue our pursuit of good quality cinema.”

Bhushan Kumar of T-Series adds, “We are very excited to work with Ajay Devgn again. T-Series is keen on producing meaningful and content-driven cinema. We are happy to bring forth Raid, a gripping and untold story that the audience will love.”

Presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, a Panorama Studios production, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, Raid is set to hit the theatres on March 16.
