Sonu Sood gets multiple Kannada movie offers

Apart from several Bollywood hits to his credit, Sonu Sood is also a popular name down south. He had acted in many Tamil as well as Telugu movies, even before he made his foray into the Hindi film industry. Now, as per a source close to the actor, Sonu is being flooded with offers from the Kannada film industry too.

The source adds, “In fact, Sonu has been offered prominent roles, which are especially being written for him, in multiple films from different language industries. And given Sonu’s likability among the masses in the South, he has recently been offered several Kannada movie scripts by reputed production houses of the industry. The actor has also liked a couple of stories, in the action and comedy genre. He is quite excited and is contemplating signing them.”

Apparently, Sonu has already started learning Kannada in order to dub his own lines for the movies he would be part of. Not many know that Sonu had once refused a Marathi film offer since he was not very fluent in the language, and he had requested the makers to give him some time to learn the language, the source further informs.

When contacted, Sonu says, “I feel learning a language is important [in a regional film]; because it helps you portray a character well. Since I stared in the south industry, I learnt Tamil, then Telegu and now I am learning Kannada. So, I got the hang of learning languages, which is why I could work in these films. I would converse with assistant directors in the language I was shooting in. It helped me get a command over these languages.”

He adds, “Apart from Kannada, a lot of Tamil and Telegu offers are also pouring in. So, now I am just working out my dates before committing to any of the films, as my Hindi films will also be releasing soon and will need dates for promotions as well. But yes, south industry is a great space and I

enjoy working there.”
