‘The new age actors come fully prepared’
Baaghi 2 is being touted as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and interestingly director Ahmed Khan has already been roped in for the third instalment of the franchise, Baaghi 3. What keeps the director relevant in today’s world of entertainment where content is available in several formats? “It is very important to be updated otherwise you will become like a cassette player or CD, and you will be thrown away. It’s the age of Wi-Fi, and the drive and excitement for work should never go away. I still feel like a newcomer whenever I take up something new and give it my 100 per cent always,” he says.
Ask him, who he finds promising from the current generation of actors, and he says that kids today are prepared for whatever job they are required to do. “Nowadays, these kids are so good, that they come fully prepared — be it Varun (Dhawan), Tiger (Shroff), Ranveer (Singh) or Alia (Bhatt). Even the future generation of actors who will make their debut now, are all so equipped. You can’t just pick and choose from the lot. I love all of them,” says the director.
He adds that the fact that actors are so prepared now, makes the job of a director even more challenging. “As a director, you also have to come with great ideas, because the actors now know their job and you just can’t sell rubbish to them and make them do anything. You’ve to be as well prepared as they are,” says Khan.
