Ijust want to relax, so I have taken three days off for my birthday and will go out of the city,” says Jennifer Winget, who turns a year older today. She adds, “This year has been quite hectic for me on the work front. All I want as a gift is to rest and sleep. I want a break to chill as I haven’t had time to do so. I like small gatherings as compared to big birthday bashes, so I will be chilling with some close friends. Every year, my friends surprise me in one way or the other. Last year, they left notes for me to follow and reach a venue where they threw a party for me.” She has a close group of 10 friends from school, college and work, and hangs out with them often.

Fan clubs of actors start sending gifts to their favourite actors weeks before their birthday and that’s why the 33year-old actor has requested them not to send gifts to her. “These lovely fans are very sweet and loving. They send so many gifts all year round and the count rises on my birthday. They put in so much hard work and effort into the gifts they send. So this year, I asked them to gift something useful to someone in need and just send me their wishes. I want them to help humans and animals in their own way.”

With the hit show Beyhadh behind her, Jennifer is currently working with Harshad Chopda in an ongoing drama which is “an amazing experience”. She says, “They say when you are having a good time, time really flies and that’s what has been happening with me. Last year and this year have been fantastic. It has been an upward and onward journey. I feel blessed to be able to work in projects that I want to, and to see them being received well by the audience is gratifying. We are an energetic team on the show and we are all having a great time.”

With a career spanning 15 years, Jennifer has been part of many hit TV shows such as Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Dill Mill Gayye, Saraswatichandra, etc. She has seen many ups and downs in her career and personal life, and talks about the mantra that has worked for her. “Having faith has been my mantra, no matter what the situation is. My parents have taught me that since childhood. And if you don’t have faith, then there is nothing to look forward to. In today’s world, the only thing that can save us is faith,” she signs off.

This year, I asked my fans to gift something useful and special to someone in need instead and just send me their wishes. JENNIFER WINGET, ACTOR
