So many interesting characters come out of the most unexpected places. It is somebody’s manner of talking, someone’s body language and other things that I pick up. PANKAJ TRIPATHI, ACTOR

Pankaj Tripathi recently revealed that his roles in movies are always based on people he has interacted with, at some point or the other in his life. The Gurgaon and Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) actor has won accolades for his brilliant performances in movies. He also says that he has this inherent ability to mould himself into the character he has to play, and his observations and daily interactions with people from different walks of life have helped him shape up his roles.

A source close to him reveals, “Pankaj, who is about to begin shooting for Anubhav Sinha’s, Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai, has maintained that he always looks for his character’s traits by observing people he meets or talks to everyday. Despite being a character actor, none of his roles are the same, which adds to the beauty of imbibing other people’s mannerisms and bringing them to life with a personal touch.”

Talking about it, the Nil Battey Sannata (2016) says, “I enjoy meeting new people. That is why I go to buy vegetables sometimes. I take an auto from the airport not just for a change in pace but to meet different people along the way. So many interesting characters come out of the most unexpected places. It is somebody’s manner of talking, someone’s body language and other things that I pick up.”
