AYUSHMANN HAS A GIFT FOR MUSIC
World Music Day gets even better — actorsinger Ayushmann Khurrana announces a talent hunt online
With his very debut, Ayushmann Khurrana proved both his acting and singing talent. He has been involved with some great music, e.g. Pani Da Rang (Vicky Donor, 2012); O Heeriye (single, 2014); and Nazm Nazm (Bareilly Ki Barfi, 2017). And today, on World Music Day, he is announcing a digital campaign to discover “sensational musical talents” worldwide, we’ve learnt.
“Ayushmann is a true-blue outsider who has made it big in the industry on his own terms. That’s why he is excited to announce a truly unique, innovative, and inclusive digital campaign (through his social media accounts) — on World Music Day, today — that will give a huge platform to other ‘outsiders’ who want to achieve their Bollywood dream,” says an insider.
The actor-singer himself feels there’s a “galaxy of talent that we can discover through
social media”. He says, “Every now and then, I’ve chanced upon such artists on my social networks. That’s where the idea came from. Imagine the outstanding, diverse, new talents that we can uncover and hear! It’s really exciting as I’d get to meet these people and jam with them. This project is incredibly close to my heart.”
The talent hunt is open to all. Ayushmann says, “You could be a singer, a drummer or a guitarist. Anyone who knows and loves their music is welcome. I’ll promote this initiative aggressively to ensure that these new talents are seen and heard by people. Hopefully, we can find some of the musical stars of the future.”
Once he officially launches his campaign, screening will start. “Ayushmann will pick a few that he thinks have exceptional talent,” says the insider. The actor says, “I think the campaign will roll out before October. This initiative gives a huge adrenaline rush to me and my entire team.”
